I’ve been uber busy lately. Work, work study, classes, graduation, personal projects… I’m a bit behind with schoolwork and my own projects. Only a couple weeks left, and I might end up with a B or two. Terrible, I know. Anyhow, done with Pizza Hut on Friday, so I have all weekend to catch up on homework. I have two or three programs to finish for Fund. of Programming, including the Final. Then I have a couple assignments and a Blog left to do in PHP, but I mostly know how to do all of it already, just need the time to code. My other two classes are fine, only thing I’m worried about is the interview for Design Portfolio.
As for projects, I’m able to do some of them during work study, which is nice. I’ve been working on iPhone stylesheets, so I’m making one for the IDVP wordpress. I know I could just use WPTouch (the plugin for WordPress to make a mobile stylesheet), I would just like to play around with it anyways. Learn, you know. Besides, I’m also working on a stylesheet for a non-WordPress site I’m working on, and they’re pretty similar, so it’s good practice.
One of my projects is a forum/challenge site/fiction archive. Hoping to get it done this summer; it’s almost one-third completed, so it’s not impossible. I figure if I don’t get a job right away (which, realistically, I probably won’t), I might invest in a MacBook Pro (10 hour battery, gorgeous) and drive to Cali. Work on it on the way (stop at coffee shops, silly; I can’t drive and code at the same time), go visit Facebook, hang out with some friends from the old fiction[NET], maybe finish up the new fiction[NET] before heading home.
We’ll see how that plan turns out, though.
Since I’ve been using this to program a WordPress theme for The A-list, I’ll post a link to the new site.

I’ll start out by saying that Defying Gravity is my third favorite TV show of all time, behind Firefly and Doctor Who (the 9th and 10th Doctors, I didn’t watch the old series). I honestly can’t believe how little media attention this got. I mean, Ron Livingston! Not the best actor in the world, but he was the main character in Office Space, which EVERYBODY loves. That should have at least attracted enough viewers to keep the show going for the full season, but ABC didn’t push the advertising; plus, they started it at the worst possible time (summer, when people take vacations and try not to watch tv). They were able to build up a huge fan base for FlashForward waaay before it even started, and they couldn’t even do that for a show that was already half-way through its first (and probably only) season.
You and I will always be connected in some strange way I can’t explain. Usually involving too many drinks…
-Zoe Barnes, to Maddox Donner(Defying Gravity)
Laura Harris is a wonderful actress, in my opinion. And the rest of the cast, though I don’t recognize them from anything else, were all great. The main plot (the mysterious Beta, etc) may have been a bit unrealistic, but there was definite chemistry between each of the main couples, and the characters were believable in their respective parts.
And really, is science fiction such a bad thing to watch? I don’t get why most people don’t like science fiction in this generation. Just because we live in an age with movies on our phones and internet on our airplanes, doesn’t mean we can’t imagine the future. Space travel is our next big step, but we don’t seem to want to strive towards it anymore. Sure, we have Star Trek making a comeback, but that’s only because they crew is young and hot(ter) now, and we can do so much better with special effects than we used to.
Since I’ve rambled far too much by now, I’ll leave on this note: if anyone reads this and doesn’t know what Defying Gravity is, look it up on Hulu and then email ABC and tell them to hurry and air the rest of the episodes in America. Canada already showed them all, I believe, but we have to wait for someone to decide to air the best episodes of the season.

Kim’s birthday party went well. Except that Kim passed out early. Aaron had the flu, so he didn’t come. Angie came, though, which was pretty fun. And Roy came. And they dislike each other, so that was fun as well. So we played a couple games of bowling, a couple games of pool, drank.. Kim got sick, so I drove her to the hotel, where Roy and some of Kim’s friends came and continued to drink. Played a drinking game, drank champagne, finished off the jello shots… Delicious. And then slept in the spare bed until morning when I had to go to work.
My internet is finally fixed! I can check my hotmail now, not that I really check that much anyways..
Also: Made $30 on two deliveries yesterday. $20 for one delivery, and $9 on another. Mmm, free money.. Speaking of money, I’m so excited for Boston in three weeks! Totally going to be broke when I get back, but whatever.

First, I’m getting a raise. Second, Kim’s getting Assistant Manager. Apparently Brent is forcing Erin to have an assistant, and she was torn between us, so I told her to offer it to Kim first cause I don’t plan to stay past graduation. Anyhow, Kim’s not all that excited for it, but she accepted. Probably cause Aldi sucks. Anyhow, I guess the next paycheck should be the new rate, and Angie will be gone by then.
Tomorrow is Kim’s b-day party, so hopefully it’ll be as good as the one we had on her actual birthday. Although, that guy we met last week will be there, so I don’t know.. Oh, but Aaron said he’d come, that’s exciting. Kim’ll probably do something dumb, considering she’s got the hots for the bartender at the Lanes, and Aaron of course. And her boyfriend’ll be there, too.
Also, my basement is looking pretty good so far. Just need to move the couches and then clean up a bit so we can move my fridge and microwave to the other wall. Very excited.

So my hosting company switched nameservers without telling me, which is why both my domains were down for a while… Luckily, one of my domains was purchased through my host, so they switched that one over for me. Which means that I was able to look it up so I could change the nameservers for my other domain.
Also, yesterday, I spent 4 hours at the Friendly Chevrolet. Bah. And I was dumb and forgot to charge my iPod, so that died an hour and a half in. Sooooo boring. However, I followed it with a trip to the Hut for my paycheck and a lovely meal. I caved and got a meat lovers personal pan. With extra cheese, apparently. Silly Colin.
Then today I worked, made about $75 driving. Can’t complain. And now I get to cuddle with my kitty til she runs away from me. Very exciting.

So work was long and boring, as usual. Did payroll, got 81 hours, pretty good considering I get two whole days off each week.. And I think I left early two or three days this pay period. I suppose I make up for that every time I’m forced to close with Brandon…
We’re having our work party on Monday, which is exciting. Very exciting. Going to Time Out for appetizers and head count, then on to Brunswick for some intense bowling and drinking! Whoo! Anyhow, obviously you’re invited, it’s not a private party or anything. P Hut is only paying for employees, though, and I think we even have to pay for our own shoe rentals.. And alcohol, of course. Text me if you want to come.
In Illustrator right now. I was like ten minutes late, which is fine cause the teacher hasn’t started class yet. She’s helping other people with issues. I forgot my book, or I’d be working on homework right now. Bah. Lame.
Last night was soooo boring at work. We had Taco Bell, and got done at close. Of course, I was dumb and forgot my work keys, so I used Courtney’s keys to lock up, and I started my car to warm it up. Aaaand since I have two sets of car keys, I had locked my car… and accidentally left the spare in the building with all the doors locked… So I had to call Courtney to come back and let me in, lol.
Oh, so the summer schedule is being worked on this week! I’m so excited, I hope I can get enough classes out of the way that I can graduate in the fall. Not likely, but whatever. A girl can dream.
So I’m in class right now. First class of Multimedia, and it’s going pretty good (except for the start time being 8am). Already know a ton of people, so that’s good, cause we have to make a podcast in class. Bah. Oh well, maybe I’ll do quick recipes or something. Fudge only takes like two minutes, it would totally work. Haha.
I got my hair cut two days ago, and I’m pretty sure it’s too short. It looks cute, I think, and it’s definitely easier to deal with. The stylist took a straight-edge razor to the ends, so my hair is much thinner. It feels wonderful, gotta say. It doesn’t like to keep a curl, so my curling iron will probably be used best as a straightener.
My wisdom teeth holes are closing up! I’m so excited about that. Still paranoid about eating anything hard or crunchy, but I think I may try my favorite food at work tonight. So not looking forward to work though..

So it’s been a day and a half since my wisdom teeth got pulled, and still no pain. Only issue is when I get stuff stuck in the holes, but that only causes minor irritation. Like when you have a bit of popcorn stuck between your teeth. Don’t even know it’s there until you feel it with your tongue, and then you can’t ignore it.
Anyhow. No pain, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to go a full day without eating something other than yogurt; I bought a pasta from the Hut last night. Delicious, and totally worth it. And then I had a quesadilla from Taco Bell for lunch. Mmm…
So other than tooth stuff, I went to Aaron’s place in Brooklyn Park today. We hung out, played the old Nintendo a bit, walked around Cub.. Good times. His Web Design class is using the same book I used in my XHTML class, which is interesting.
I’m gonna go ahead and post this now; I have to move some of my crap in from the garage, and then it’ll be time for dinner and LOST! So excited
